René Bretschneider

René Bretschneider is a Senior Advisor at FairCap, focusing on ESG, Consumer Goods, and Energy Transition. He brings 25 years of experience in both corporate and scale-up environments, across multiple industries and a wide range of business functions.

He began his career at adidas, where he spent nearly 20 years in various senior leadership roles, including Global Merchandising, Go-To-Market, and Global Business Unit responsibilities, most recently serving as Senior Vice President Strategy & Business Development for Europe.

He then followed his passion for climate action and transitioned into the energy sector, joining thermondo. There, as Managing Director and Chief People & Sustainability Officer, he played a key role in shaping the company’s evolution into a full-service provider for the decarbonization of the residential building sector.

In addition to his professional work, he is actively engaged as an advisor to startups and NGOs in the fields of climate and nature conservation.

René studied Business Administration at the European Business School in Oestrich-Winkel, as well as in Glendale, Arizona, and Pamplona, Spain.
